Restoration of the Church

 

In today's world we see the result of a church split against itself

A church, a ministry, a shrine, a temple as togetherness is put on a shelf

Separate denominations spring into view as the disagreements grew

Enter the word Christianity they thought would bring unity to the crew

 

An arena for competition as the recital replaces the love of God

Standing in the midst as competition stirred, his presence, not noticed, was odd

Vowing everything they do is better, more holy and divine

The denomination of the age became the rage and God never came to mine

 

Baptist, Catholic, Jehovah witness, Mormon and Presbyterian

Methodist,  Lutheran,  Muslim and all other brethren

All pieces of the crumbling whole as new piece fall from the fold

New denominations and new ways new competitors to ways of old

 

"A church split against itself is nothing..." the words of love.

"Ways and means are unimportant..." the reminder from above.

As a numerator all can stand and not fight over who is the head

Make the common denominator God and the evil will soon fade

 

As Christianity created nothing and God created all

It has not the power to prevent the fall

Competition is vain, filled with the spirit of Cain

Let Jesus be the head and all good things will remain

 

Let righteousness be the guide that take the lead

With God as a common denominator we all can believe

And join hands and sing when the true head of churches

Grace us with his presence in the day of visitation, no evil lurches

 

The dream of real restoration of the church I will trust

That the true love of God's wisdom and knowledge that we all thirst

Will someday emerge when people realize that the Word is God

And not Christianity that leads to believers unity , let not his presence be odd

 

Sharing is the spirit of spreading his word

Lovingly is the delivery that will be heard

Emotions and experience we all live

It is his will that we all give

 

Strengthening the whole should be the goal

Let us rejoin to the head's soul

Jesus reign in the spirit of love I will always trust

So let us mend this split so he can receive all of us-Amen
